At present, the largest image sensor used on mobile phones is 1/0.98 inch in size, with two models: Sony IMX989 and Sony LYT-900. In addition, the rising domestic models Haowei OV50X and SITWEI SC5A0CS have a size of 1 inch.
The Sony IMX989 was first released on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra phone on July 4, 2022. Because the size has been reduced to 1/0.98 inch for the first time and the area has increased, the 40nm process technology is still used.

On December 11, 2023, Sony released an upgraded version of the LYT-900 image sensor, which remains the same size and has been upgraded to a 22nm process technology, greatly reducing power consumption.
The Sony LYT-900 has 50 million pixels, a unit pixel of 1.6 μ m, an effective area of 13.10mm × 9.83mm, Octa PD full pixel focusing, and supports four in one pixel fusion, with a fused pixel area of 3.2 µ m.
