Apple has finally brought the long-awaited fast charging upgrade to the iPhone 17 series. According to actual data from foreign media, the iPhone 17 Pro, Pro Max, and Standard Edition all support up to 40W wired charging, while the ultra-thin iPhone Air is still limited to 20W. This change marks the end of Apple’s long-standing strategy of only supporting slow charging.
Within 15 minutes, the iPhone 17 Pro can be charged to 39%, 67% in 30 minutes, 82% in 45 minutes, and fully charged in just 1 hour and 16 minutes. In contrast, the charging speed of iPhone Air is slower: only 54% in 30 minutes, and it takes 1 hour and 36 minutes to fully charge. Compared to the iPhone 16 Pro, the iPhone 17 Pro, which has significantly increased battery capacity, can charge up from 58% to 67% in 30 minutes. The average charging time for all models in the series has been reduced by about 25 minutes compared to the previous generation.
