Currently, the Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold use the Samsung JNP sensor.
On July 15, 2025, Samsung released the JNP sensor, a 50 megapixel mobile image sensor with 1.0 micron (μ m) pixels and an optical format of 1/1.57 inch. Compared to the Sony IMX858 (1/2.4 inch, 0.7 μ m pixel), JNP achieves higher input efficiency with a smaller sensor size (1/2.8 inch), reducing costs by 20%, making it more suitable for the main camera of a thousand yuan camera or flagship ultra wide angle camera。

The core breakthrough of ISOCELL JNP lies in replacing traditional lenses with nanoscale prism structures, achieving three major innovations:
Wide angle light collection capability: Nanoprisms use the principles of refraction and diffraction to “bend” large angle incident light to the color filter area, expanding the effective collection range of light by 40% and solving the problem of insufficient sensitivity of edge pixels;
Multi wavelength precise separation: Prism structure is used to differentially regulate the paths of red, green, and blue light lines, reducing adjacent pixel crosstalk and improving color purity by 15%;
25% increase in sensitivity efficiency: Tests have shown that under the same lighting conditions, JNP’s output signal strength exceeds that of sensors in the same class, and its ability to preserve details in low light scenes is comparable to that of 1 μ m large pixels.
