On April 1, tech blogger “Digital Chat Station” posted an update revealing that the vivo Pocket is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2026, potentially as part of a bundled offering alongside the vivo X500 series. CNMO suggests that the vivo Pocket and the vivo X500 series may very well be unveiled at the same launch event.

According to previous reports from other media outlets, the vivo Pocket is a handheld gimbal camera product that vivo plans to introduce in 2026. Designed to compete directly with DJI’s Osmo Pocket series, the device is expected to feature a lens system incorporating ZEISS optics. It may also utilize ZEISS’s signature lens coatings to enhance image quality in backlit conditions while minimizing glare and ghosting.
The vivo Pocket is likely to integrate vivo’s self-developed V3 imaging chip, enabling features such as real-time color grading for 4K video, AI composition assistance, and motion tracking autofocus—all designed to lower the barrier to entry for content creation.
Regarding the sensor, leaks suggest that the vivo Pocket may utilize a 50-megapixel IMX989 1-inch-type primary sensor, paired with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.7 to f/2.8. Furthermore, vivo’s highly acclaimed micro-gimbal stabilization technology—a staple of its smartphone lineup—is also expected to be ported over to this camera.
It is worth noting that, in addition to vivo, other smartphone manufacturers—such as OPPO and Honor—are also poised to enter the handheld gimbal camera market. Consequently, 2026 is expected to witness a major surge in new product releases within this sector.
