Launched on January 19, 2026, the new Honor Magic8 Pro Air not only boasts an ultra-slim profile of just 6.1mm but also features a host of powerful specifications and capabilities. It sports a flagship-grade rear triple-camera setup, with each lens exceeding 50 megapixels; notably, its pioneering ultra-thin, high-definition periscope telephoto lens reaches an impressive 64 megapixels. Of course, photography is just one aspect; this new Honor device also supports “Quad-SIM Dual Standby,” offering immense convenience to a specific segment of users.

The Honor Magic8 Pro Air is Honor’s first smartphone to support a combination of physical SIM cards and eSIMs. This Quad-SIM Dual Standby capability provides significant convenience for users who manage multiple phone numbers. A physical SIM card is the familiar, small chip that most of us know—the kind inserted into a phone’s dedicated SIM slot. Nowadays, Dual SIM Dual Standby has become a standard feature across the board, found in everything from budget-friendly models to flagship smartphones. An eSIM, on the other hand, digitally embeds the functionality of a traditional SIM card directly into the device’s internal chip; this eliminates the need for a physical SIM slot, allowing users to switch between and manage carrier networks remotely via software configuration. However, it is worth noting that—at least for the time being—users are still required to visit a carrier’s retail store in person to activate this feature; online activation is not yet available.
